Green Apatite

Apatite refers to a group of closely-related phosphate minerals. Green Apatite is most often a Fluorapatite. It can range in color from forest green to lime-green. The most desirable are the yellow-green transparent gems, mainly from Morocco.

Green Apatite was discovered in 1786 by the German geologist, Abraham Gottlob Werner. The name, apatite, comes from the Greek word apatein, meaning, to deceive. Werner apparently chose this word because Green Apatite looks like so many other stones.

Green Apatite may be green, yellow-green, or sea-green tinged with blue.

Green Apatite is often referred to as Bones Of The Earth because it’s thought to have the ability to help and assist in healing Earth!
